Request on Ultrasound FMCW front-end

Hi there,

I'm searching for an ultrasound transceiver that can support the transmission of FMCW chirp signal, is there any product can support this?

It would be also good for me if any ultrasound device provides programmable interface to the transmission signal.

Our current ultrasound transmitter solutions (TX7316 and TX7332) are not designed for chirp applications.

Hello Yanbo,

TX7316/TX7332 supports two mode of transmit beamforming.. One is referred as on-chip and other one as off-chip. In On-chip beamforming there is an internal pattern generator. If you operate in on-chip beamformig mode then as Praveen suggested, it wont be possible to generate chirp wave. But in off-chip beamforming mode it will be possible. In off-chip beamforming transmitter output is decided by three pin control signal per channel. So based on control signal input, any type of output is possible given that power consumption is within less than 4 to 5W. Will that work for you?

Many thanks for the information, it is useful.

However, I want to double check whether the three pin control can really help transmit FMCW chirp in off-chip mode. It seems I cannot access the detailed document (datasheet, user guide) of TX7316EVM or TX7332EVM.

Could you help confirm on the above question? Many thanks!
