AMC6821EVM-PDK: Requesting windows 10 device driver for USB-MODEMV (AMC6821 dev kit)

Part Number: AMC6821EVM-PDK

Hi,

I would like to install the USB-MODEMV driver  on Windows 10 for detecting the board AMC6821 EVM-PDK.

Also, I know the application for AMC6821 EVM-PDK will not work for Windows 10.

I have successfully installed windows XP on my virtual box and also installed AMC6821 application labview onit.

Plan is to install this device driver for this modem on Windows 10 machine and access it in my virtual box as USB device so that the labview application an work with this device.

So please help me with the windows 10 driver for USB-MODEMV of AMC6821 EVM-PDK.

Thanks,

Narendra

  • Hi Narendra,

    Welcome to the E2E Forums.

The AMC6821EVM previously used the NI-VISA Drivers, which were installed alongside the EVM GUI. Since this was so long ago, the drivers were unsigned. As a result, after installation they would not be properly recognized on a Windows 10 system, even if they were compatible.

You could try to install the latest version of these drivers from NI. The AMC6821-EVM & USB-MODEVM were originally designed to work with version 4.0 of these drivers, and NI is now on version 20.0, so I couldn't say for certain that this will work with your setup. It is worth an attempt though.

  • Hi ,

    Thanks for the quick help.

As you mentioned "AMC6821-EVM & USB-MODEVM were originally designed to work with version 4.0 of these drivers",  Is it possible to get 4.0 version of the driver and will that work for Windows 10

Also if 4.0 is not available can we use 5.4 which is the lowest version available ?

    Thanks,

    Narendra

  • Hi Narendra,

I can't advise on the functionality of any version of the national instruments drivers with Windows 10. I can tell you that I would be surprised if version 5.4 of these drivers were signed. If you want to try using that version you would likely have to disable signed driver enforcement on your system before installation.
