I am working on an application where I want to measure the amount of light being generated by a particular LED in an environment with ambient light. I was looking at using the OPT3001, with the 100ms integration time. I have the ability to control the brightness of my LED via PWM from the same processor that is reading from the OPT3001. The idea was to make a measurement with the LED off, and then another measurement with the LED on and take the difference between the measurements to read the LED brightness. Is there a way to synchronize integration window to an external event, or alternately, to synchronize the external event to the 100ms window? Is there another optical sensor that I should be looking at for this application?
