MMWAVE-STUDIO: Post Proc Error (MWMCR::EvaluateFunction error)

Hi, 

I am using AWR6843ISK and I have been getting this error whenever I want to capture and post process multiple raw data.

I also used AWR1843BOOST to capture raw data and get the same error as well.

I noticed that I started to have this error whenever I want to capture multiple data separately into 3 or more different bin file.

I have also referred to the following forum pages to see if it could resolve the error I have been facing:

In the DCA1000 Debugging Handbook provided, I don't see the error as mentioned above and/or solution listed inside the debugging handbook.

What I have tried so far but the error persist:


1. Delete the entire RSTD folder located in:  
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming

2. Disable firewall 

3. Setting MATLAB Runtime v8.5.1 (32-bit) directory to the highest priority in the Windows "PATH" environment variable

4. Disabled WiFi and tried running mmWave Studio 

5. Set the Sampling Rate to 5000 by following the doxygen shown: file:///C:/ti/mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04/packages/ti/control/mmwavelink/docs/doxygen/html/structrl_profile_cfg__t.html

Do advise on how should I resolve this error. I have went through the relevant user guides but it seems to not have any solutions into solving this error.

  • Hello Daniel,

    As a workaround, you could try "standalone post processing". This is particularly useful when the data is already captured from a previous session and the user just needs to post process the data using Studio or in cases when immediate post processing is not available. 

    Just follow the steps as highlighted in section 8.2.2 of mmWave_Studio_cascade_user_guide.pdf.

    Thank you for your quick response

    I have read the mmWave Studio Cascade User Guide as suggested. For the "standalone post processing", a TDA capture card is required in order to set the Radar System as "Cascade" as stated in the user guide. I am using the DCA1000 to capture and post process multiple data and that is when I start getting the error.

    I have tried to capture and post process multiple raw data both indoor and outdoor. What I have noticed is for outdoor, I started getting the error message after capturing 4-5 data consecutively while for indoor, the error comes after capturing 1 or 2 data consecutively

    I would like to clarify if the Standalone Post Processing as you mentioned work for the DCA1000. If not, is there other alternatives I can resolve this issue.

    Yes, it works with DCA1000 as well. Just clear the path and click on the "postproc" button. After that follow the same steps as suggested in the user guide to load the log file and bin file.

    Thanks for the quick clarification. Yes, I am able to load the existing log file and bin file.

    I went through the solutions suggested in the forum page I have attached earlier. I might have resolve the MWMCR::EvaluateFunction error. What I did is to delete the RSTD folder whenever I close mmWave Studio and open mmWave Studio, Though I am still unsure if that helps to resolve the error I've been getting. 

    If it does help to troubleshoot the error, it may be helpful to add that in the debugging handout.
