Hello,
I am trying to read raw adc data from my iwr6843aopevm (more sepcifically for the vital signs demo). I connected the iwr to the mmwaveicboost and the mmwaveicboost to the dca1000evm all connector should be connected right, alle switches an jumpes should be right and my device manager can see the ports. I did the Internet setttings for the ethernet port. i installed the right matlab runtime version and so on.
I will upload some pictures for reference.
But for now im stuck in the mmwave studio radar api in the connection part at step 2 for RS232 Operations where i have to choose a COM Port and a baud rate. COM Port should be 10 form me as my device manager says and baud rate is at 115220 as suggested in the users guide.
My Question is : what could be my mistake? What did i overlook?
Let me know if other pictures or screenshots are needed.
best regards
Resul

Hello Resul,
I also have a few more questions :
1. What is the version of the mmWave Studio Application you're using here?
2. What is the error you're getting on the mmWave Studio output console? Is it CallingConnect_Target returned 3? In that case, please check if the COM port is not help by any other application running on your PC at that time. In order to make sure the COM port is indeed accessible and working as xpected, please try to connect to it using a serial term application like TeraTerm and Putty.
Regards,
Ishita

now my error is unable to read fpga version as you can see. I checked firewall i disconnected every other ethernet or wifi, but still the same result. Now i've read that i might need to reflash my fpga version maybe. I will try it. As far as i can understand i need to download lattice diamond programmer and lattice encryption for this. Is this right. And do you have any other suggestion for what i could check or try.
Hi Resul,
Thank you for providing this detailed information. It definitely helps.
Now a few things before moving to the error you're getting :
[14:35:18] Device Status : UnDetDe/QM/SOP:2/ES:2
I see your device is not being detected by mmWave Studio. Can you manually select the 6843 device on the connection tab and then proceed forward?
Now coming to the FPGA error, the FPGA may have become corrupted and hence it is better to reflash it. For that, you would need to Download the Lattice Diamond programmer tool, Windows version. Instructions are there in the DCA1000 user guide and you should be able to smoothly follow that.
Let us know if you need any help or clarifications. Looking forward to hear your observations.
Regards,
Ishita
Hi,
thanks for your reply. I am always manually selecting the device.
when i try to use lattice programmer i get this error
even though i have lattice diamond 3.12 installed and i have license too.
best regards
resul
Hello Resul,
This is a known issue we've seen with XWR6843AOP devices. The application sometimes does not detect the presence automatically but if chosen manually, it works absolutely fine.
Regarding your problem with the installation of Lattice Programmer tool, I'm not completely sure of the issue. I personally have not seen this before. You could try uninstalling all the occurrences (if any) of this tool that you may have in your machine and try to get a fresh installation.
You could also try on a different machine if its possible. If nothing is successful, I'm afraid you will have to contact Lattice Semiconductors directly.
Regards,
Ishita
Hi Ishita,
the lattice problem is solved and i reflashed the fpga. But my "Unable to read FPGA Version. [error -5]" remains the same. I disconnected any other ethernet connection and the wifi. The IT department of our company checked the firewall and everything around it. They say it seems like the Board with the IP 192.168.33.180 is not responding at all. They even used wireshark and tried somethings. What other cause could it have. I am really getting desperate with this,
best regards
Resul
Hello Resul,
How are you connecting to the ethernet port on the DCA1000? Is that a direct connection or some adapter based?
Also just wanted to let you know that the DCA1000EVM supports a Gigabit Ethernet port to provide the connection to the network.
Regards,
Ishita
