Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPT4001
After extensive testing with the OPT4001EVM, I am very impressed with the performance, but in terms of implementation, this sensor presents additional difficulties. The only packages available have the sensor on the same side as the electronics connection points. I see other part numbers as options in the drop down menu for support (OPT4001DTST, OPT4001DNPR, OPT4001DTSR, OPT4001YMNT), but only the OPT4001YMNT and OPT4001YMNR are shown on the actual product page.
I have noticed that the OPT4001EVM that I have used has a flexible coupon board for mounting the chip, which then attaches to a rigid coupon board. Is it possible to purchase these flexible coupon boards for the OPT4001YMNR separately from the EVM? Custom flex PCBs present a large financial hurdle to sensor integration, and the existing flex coupon on the EVM would easily meet our needs.
In summary, I have two questions:
1. Are there other packages available that have the sensor and electrical connections on opposite faces of the package?
2. Is it possible to purchase many flexible coupon boards as used in the EVM, independently from purchasing the EVM?
