IWR1843BOOST: Want to use People counting example code directly on

Hi Team,

I am working on IWR1843BOOST board. I want to use people counting example on IWR1843BOOST however the binaries present in this location (C:\ti\mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_12_0\labs\People_Counting\3D_People_Counting\src\68xx) are only related to 68xx .

I also checked the migration document however there is no direct reference for migrating code from xWR_68xx to IWR1843 . It is via 1642.

In one of the forum Q/A related to same topic it was mentioned that the binaries from 1642 can be directly used on IWR1843Boost. However it was part of "mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_1_0" older version of toolbox. Can you please point me to right source code or binaries to be used for people counting example that can be run on IWR1843BOOST EV board.

Hi,

I would recommend not running the people counting demo on the 1843 board, as it's a 77GHz board, and most regulations prohibit the use of radar at this frequency. If you are sure this is what you want though, refer to this thread.

Hi Nate,

If i have to buy a IWR board which will support the 3D people counting demo. Which one would it be also, what are the other sensors I need to buy.

I am referring to the below toolbox example. (C:\ti\mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_12_0\labs\People_Counting\3D_People_Counting\prebuilt_binaries\3D_people_count_68xx_demo.bin). Is this compatible with AWR/IWR 68xx.

Would be thankful if you could please help out with the right dev kit for this.

Hi Veena,

The only thing you need to evaluate that binary is an EVM containing an IWR6843 device. If you're placing the device overhead, I would recommend the IWR6843AOPEVM IWR6843AOPEVM, and if you're wall-mounting it, I would recommend the IWR6843ISK.

You only need one of those boards to flash the device, alter code and reflash the device with new code. However, if you want to step through code to debug, you'll need a MMWAVEICBOOST too.

Greetings! So I was able to get the demo for 3D ppl counting " 3D_people_count_68xx_demo.bin" up and running.

Can you please share the "src" code for these pre built binaries. Also can I talk to one of the TI engineers related to the point clouding design that is visible on the demo version. I wanted to understand few things.
