AWR1443BOOST: read data in real time in matlab

Hi Cesar,
right now we are exactly there with my original issue.

I followed the user guide pdf of Lab16 step-by-step:

Matlab runtime 9.2 (2017) is installed and SOP0 and SOP2 jumpers are closed.

I flashed the device with

C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_02_01_00_04\packages\ti\demo\xwr14xx\mmw\xwr14xx_mmw_demo.bin

and run, as you suggested the gui, but I did not get any output then from the software. Just a blank log_data file.

Then I tried to, as suggested by the user guide, to flash the requested binaries located here:

C:\ti\mmwave_industrial_toolbox_3_2_0\labs\lab0016_zone_occ_14xx\prebuilt_binaries\xwr12xx_xwr14xx_radarss.bin

C:\ti\mmwave_industrial_toolbox_3_2_0\labs\lab0016_zone_occ_14xx\prebuilt_binaries\xwr14xx_mmw_demo_mss.bin

I get the following error and this happens with ALL binaries I try to upload except with the demo binary file located in the SDK.

I really do not understand what is going wrong.

Were you able to get the gui window as shown below?

If not it means that the gui exe is not called correctly

I get exactly this screen are also able to connect the UART and DATA port.

The command window looks the following:

whereas the GUI windows looks like this:

When I load the config file and start the loggin a .csv file is generated in the folder but no data is stored.

I assume this occurs because only the demo binary from the SDK is loaded and not the needed binary files located here:

C:\ti\mmwave_industrial_toolbox_3_2_0\labs\lab0016_zone_occ_14xx\prebuilt_binaries\xwr12xx_xwr14xx_radarss.bin

C:\ti\mmwave_industrial_toolbox_3_2_0\labs\lab0016_zone_occ_14xx\prebuilt_binaries\xwr14xx_mmw_demo_mss.bin

but as already explained I get an error when I try to flash them on the device.

Yes, it seems that this demo is no longer supported by the team.

Let me see if I can identify another matlab gui internally

Unfortunately I was not able to identify another matlab gui for xWR1443.

I was able to find this old thread that references a python script.

The mmWave SDK 3.5 also includes some python parser scripts

thank you for the suggestion.

I found already a python program and right now we are adjusting it to our needs.

The problem persists that I am unable to flash any binaries beside the demo version of the SDK.

Without that all the work I am doing becomes useless.

what if I need to flash a programm which can detect flat surfaces such as stairs, ramps or a flat floor?

Additionally, if already the binary files of the industrial toolbox are not flashable, how can I be sure that mine is?

According to the tutorial of lab16 zone occupancy for example only the AWR1443BOOST board is needed.
