IWRL6432: IWRL6432 Run in low frequency and power on/off RF manually

Part Number: IWRL6432

Hi, iwrl6432 teams  now sdk  I used  is 5.2 (latest)

Will APIs be provided in the subsequent SDK for power on/off HWA, power on/off RF, and FEC? Is this feature available in SDK 5.2? I couldn't find it.

Because my application wants to be used in the following scenario.

I want the M4 CPU to work at a relatively low frequency (such as 5MHz) to respond to serial ports, collect voltage, temperature, and so on.Use RF and HWA only when needed (approximately 1Hz)

So I want the M4 CPU to work continuously (without entering any sleep or idle state), so I want to manually turn off and turn on the power of HWA, RF, and FEC to save power consumption.

Is this feasible?

  • Hello,

I'm checking internally about the feasibility of this. Please give me an additional 24 hours for a response.

    Best Regards,

    Josh

  • Hi Josh,

Thank you for your reply. Do you have any updates?

  • Hello,

My sincere apologies for the delayed response. Theoretically, this should be possible but as you have noticed, there are not currently simple APIs for turning on and off HWA, FEC, etc... If you would like you can take a look at how this is being done in the power driver (<MMWAVE_SDK5_INSTALL_DIR>/source/drivers/power/v0) and attempt to implement this. I am still trying to get an answer about whether these APIs would be planned for the future so I will leave this thread open.

    Best Regards,

    Josh

  • Hi,

My sincere apologies for the delayed response. As of right now, there are no plans to provide APIs to power down individual components such as HWA, FEC, etc... Only APIs for entering low power modes are provided.

    Best Regards,

    Josh
