TMP64: About distance from heat source.

Hi team,

Do you have any data on the accuracy of temperature measurement depending on the distance from the heat source?
Of course, I understand that accuracy varies depending on the environment.

I'd like to know how close I need to be to the heat source to get the required accuracy.

Sincerely.
Kengo.

  • Hi Kengo,

As you mention, the heat transfer will depend on the environment/medium. It is always recommended to have the temperature sensor as close as possible to the heat source to improve thermal response and thermal equilibrium. I do not have any data that I can share with you at the moment but I do have additional guidance I can provide on layout recommendations for better temperature monitoring. Could you please clarify if your heat source is on a PCB? And if so, is it on the same PCB as the temperature sensor?

    Best regards,

    Simon Rojas
