TMAG5253: Tmux timing details

Part Number: TMAG5253

Hi experts,

My customer wants to use multiple hall ICs, and therefore has a question about muxing timing shown in the below diagram.

The tmux is not defined in the detasheet.

What parameters should be considered for setting this timing?

Thanks,

Luke

  • Hello Luke,

Thanks for considering to use Texas Instruments. I think the best case scenario would simply be the time to disable one TMAG5253 (GPIO1 less than VIL) and then enable another TMAG5253 (GPIO2 greater than VIH). I will check with our design team to see if there is any limitation on those durations.

  • Hi Patrick,

Thank you for your quick response.

I think the best case scenario would simply be the time to disable one TMAG5253 (GPIO1 less than VIL) and then enable another TMAG5253 (GPIO2 greater than VIH).

My understanding is this is what the diagram is showing.

What my customer wants to know is from disabling GPIO1 ("less than VIL") to enabling GPIO2 ("greater than VIH"), which is tmux in this diagram, are there any suggestions for the timing?

    Thanks,

    Luke

  • Hello Luke,

I spoke with the design engineer.  The time between one device enable going below VIL and the other device's enable going above VIH can be 0.
