TIDEP-0090: About margin of error of actual values for angle and velocity and distance measurement.

Part Number: TIDEP-0090
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVE-L-SDK

Hello, I am a student at Meiji University, and I am considering purchasing TIDEP-0900. I would like to know the margin of error of actual values for angle measurement, velocity measurement, and distance measurement.

The situation I use TIDEP-0900 is tracking an automobile moving approximately 20 meters ahead in me without multipath interference but with only direct wave signals. If anyone has this information, please share it with me. Thank you very much.

  • Hello.

The margin of error for these measurements are more controlled by the configuration passed to the sensor rather than the sensor itself.  In the MMWave-L-SDK documentation, you can refer to the tuning guide that shows how to configure the accuracy for these various measurements.  This may not apply 1-1 to the reference design, but it will help clarify what changes are required from a chirp design standpoint to improve accuracy.  The user guide in the SDK 3.6 documentation will be a more 1-1 comparison for this reference design.

    Sincerely,

    Santosh
