TMP61: correctly placed on PCB?

Expert 5700 points
Part Number: TMP61

Customer doesn`t know if parts are soldered correrctly.

Is the measurable diode path mounted in forward/blocking direction?

They assume that the very small dot (very hard to recognize, upper right) is pin 1

And pin 1 hast to be connected to lower potential, correct?

Whether it is anode or cathode, they don` know?

  • Hi Isee,

The dot in the upper right marks pin 1 which is the V- terminal so your statement is correct. This is determined by the internal ESD protection diode of the device. For proper functionality, this diode must be reverse biased: pin 1 is lower potential (ESD diode anode) and pin 2 is higher potential (ESD diode cathode).

With that clarified, has the customer faced any issues when biasing the device as described above?

    Best regards,
