TMCS1107-Q1: +/-300A sensor solution (core)

Part Number: TMCS1107-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV5055

Hi Team,

Do we have appropriate solution can fulfill customer requirement as below?

Regards,
Roy

  • Hey Roy,

We do have some options for this, but the recommendation may change based on some of your system parameters. Do you already have a specific core you need to use, or are you designing a core around the sensor? If you have a specific core you need to use, what magnetic field range do you anticipate having at the sensor location?

    Regards,

    Mitch

  • Hey Roy,

Without the specifics of your system, you have two main options:

    • Linear Hall sensors, such as the DRV5055. This is most likely the option that you will want, since they come in a package similar to the one in your image that you can just wedge in the gap of the core.
    • Magnetic current sensors, such as the TMCS110x devices. This option could work, but needs to be soldered onto a PCB, so there is usually a larger air gap, which may make it harder to design for.

The DRV5055 (and similar devices) are covered by a different team, so I am notifying them of this thread also, in case you need further support for those devices.

    Regards,
    Mitch
