Dear TI experts,
My customer considers AWRL6432 for their new product, and they have a question about serial flash memory.
They have to use 1.8V VDD for flash memory, but there are only recommendation for 3.3V VDD in the document below ;
https://www.ti.com/lit/an/sprach9d/sprach9d.pdf
And I am going to suggest the flash memory below; Could you confirm that these flash memory is okay for AWRL6432?
IS25WP016D-QBLA3 (1.8V VDD / QE bit set to 1 / 8-pin SOIC 208mil)
IS25WP016D-QNLA3 (1.8V VDD / QE bit set to 1 / 8-pin SOIC 150mil)
IS25WP016D-QTLA3 (1.8V VDD / QE bit set to 1 / 8-contact USON 4x3mm)
Please Check this issue. Thanks.
Best regards,
Chase
Hey Chase,
Thanks for reaching out regarding these flash devices. One of our hardware engineers will look into this and try to get back to you within the next day or two. Please keep in mind there may be a delay due to Thanksgiving holiday in the United States.
For now, do you mind posting links to the datasheets for each flash device to ensure that we are looking at the correct devices?
Regards,
Kristien
Dear Kristien,
Thank you for your support.
I send you the link of datasheet.
https://www.issi.com/WW/pdf/25LP-WP016D.pdf
for now, IS25LP016D (3.0V VDD) have no problem, because I can confirm that part name in SPRACH9D document.
Just I want to confirm that IS25WP016D (1.8V VDD) is also okay for AWRL6432.
Please let me know if there are any updates about this issue. Thanks.
Best regards,
Chase
Hi Chase,
THe AWRL6432 device typically supports the 1.8V I/O Mode. It is really not possible for us to test and confirm all the available flash vairants, however if the LP and WP device only differs on I/O voltage support then you can try it with the device on TI EVM. Please ensure all the specs match with the recommended flash parts or variants.
