TMP411-Q1: TMP411 Transistor selection precautions

Part Number: TMP411-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP411, TMP117

Hi friends,

In the Remote Temperature Sensor Transistor Selection Guide. I see the QVL material. it includes the MMBT3906Q(vendor: DIODES). I wonder know how about the material (AD-MMBT3906) whether it can use for the TMP411.

otherwise, I don't understand the effect of the transistor. it works on the Cut-off zone, saturation zone, amplification zone. I'm looking forward for your reply.

  • Hello Shao,

We recommend all manufactures and variants of 3904 and 3906 transistors for TMP411, but can't guarantee accuracy of the transistor.

    Best Regards,

  • hi Miss McKean,

Thanks for your support, I have one question, the purpose of the transistor in the circuit, Can you help explain the role of transistors in a circuit?

I'm looking forward for your reply.

  • Hello Shao,

The transistors that you see in the datasheet will measure the temperature at a desired remote location. TMP411 is digital and capable of measuring temperature at two different locations. TMP411 will measure the temperature of the local location of the IC and measure the temperature of the transistor. If you are not interested in the remote functionality, we have digital local temperature sensors. What specs are you considering for a temperature sensor? If you are looking for high accuracy, I would recommend the TMP117.

    Best Regards,
