PGA460-Q1: Log Raw Data & Settings

Hello Team TI,

I am using PGA460-Q1 EVM GUI for experimentation with BOOSTXL-PGA460 Booster Pack, MSP-EXP430F5529LP and BOOSTXL-PGA460
(Daughter-Card).

I am unable log the raw data, to enable the same on GUI. what is the setting to be performed.

Also, can we interface any ultrasonic sonic transducer and is it possible to set frequency of operation either 40 KHz or 58 KHz through block diagram section of GUI?

Hi Prashant,

Thank you for posting to the Sensors forum!

To log the raw data, go to Data Monitor -> Graph. You would then need to press 'Start' in order to capture a measurement.

You can select the frequency of operation by doing the following going to Block Diagram -> select frequency by Output Driver shown below:

Regarding your question about being able to interface any ultrasonic sonic transducer, as long as the selected transducer falls within the specs of the device, it should be compatible. Please see the following link for a list of commonly used transducers that are paired with the PGA460: https://www.ti.com/product/PGA460-Q1#design-development

Hello Alicia,

Thanks for the quick reply. However, I want to understand more about Log UMR & Log Raw Data buttons. By default, I can observe the Log Raw Data Button is disabled.

Hi Prashant,

If Log UMR is selected then the data will be displayed on the right side of the screen under Utilities, as shown below:

To enable 'Log Raw Data', you need to do to Graph and select ADC for the Graph Mode:

Once you so, it should become enabled

what is the beamwidth in degrees of ultrasonic transducer provided with EVM kit

Hi Prashant,

The beam width width is 80 x 34 degrees, please see image below for details:

The transducer included in the EVM kit is the MA58MF14-7N, please see the following link for more information regarding the transducer: https://www.murata.com/en-us/products/productdetail?partno=MA58MF14-7N
