DCA1000EVM: Ethernet connection cannot be established

Part Number: DCA1000EVM

Although the computer IP address has been configured according to the tutorial, the computer could still not connect to the board via Ethernet. We use Wireshark to record Ethernet packages and found that ARP packages got no response from the board. Then we manually set the ARP table and connect the board using mmWave studio. In Wireshark we could see UDP packets sent by the laptop, but there is no UDP packets from the board. There is no other error message or indicator. Could you please let me know what might be the solution?

  • Hi Boqiang,

Thanks for reaching out over E2E.

There are few things that you can check at your end -

    1) Firewall might be a blocking the ports used by DCA1000

    2) Wifi or other local network connection is enabled

    3) Ethernet cable from DCA is connected to wrong Ethernet port

    .

You can find some more debugging information on DCA1000 in this document - mmwave_studio_03_01_01_00/docs/DCA1000_Debugging_Handbook.pdf

    Thanks,
    Anirban

  • Hi Anirban,

Thank you very much for your reply!

I have already disabled firewall and wifi, and I think the ethernet cable is connected - the green light on DCA is on and there is ethernet on the computer (without connection there will be no ethernet on the computer). I have also tried different jumper settings as suggested in the debugging handbook, and the same problem still happens. Could you please provide any other potential solutions?

  • Hi Boqiang,

    1) Which device are you using DCA1000 with?

    2) Which version of mmWave studio you are using?

    Thanks,
    Anirban
