TMAG3001: Power supply specification

Part Number: TMAG3001

Tool/software:

I understand I can power this sensor from the same switched regulated supply which powers the bulk of my system including the microcontroller, memory etc
But is the performance expected to be better if it is powered from a quieter rail - potentially regulated by an LDO?

  • Hello Shiv,

Thanks for considering to use Texas Instruments.  The analog signal chain within the device is sub-regulated with an internal LDO.  Typically we suggest a 0.1uF decoupling capacitor between the supply and gnd pins near the device.  If you are concerned that your supply still might be too noisy, I would suggest adding more parallel capacitors as those will help and might be a cheaper option.
