AWRL6844: How to use CCS 12.7.1 import 6844 SDK offline?

Part Number: AWRL6844

Tool/software:

Use CCS12.7.1 import AWRL6844 SDK with the following conditions

I have referenced the 6844 FAQ, but because the customer company is using the internal network, customer  cannot check for updates online.

Is there another solution?

  • Hi Rick,

Thank you for reaching out. You may find success by following the steps outlined in this E2E post.

Let me know if this works

  • Hi Vignesh,

I have refer the post in the link you provided. The customer chose to install all the products and restart the computer, but it didn't work.

It seems that the customer's work computer is unable to connect to the external network for online updates.

Are there any other ways to resolve this issue?

    Thanks,

    Rick

  • Hi Rick,

I believe that the steps in the link I provided only work if you have done everything in FAQ but I understand that may not be possible due to network restrictions.

At the very least, the customer must do the following before doing what was outlined in the link I provided, I assumed they already followed the FAQ but I wanted to point it out just in case they missed this section.

    1. Copy <MMWAVE_LSDK6_INSTALL_DIR>/tools/CCS_SupportFiles/xWRL68xx.xml to <CCS_INSTALL_DIR>/ccs/ccs_base/common/targetdb/devices/ - Note: see FAQ #3
    2. Copy both <MMWAVE_LSDK6_INSTALL_DIR>/tools/syscfg_deviceData/devices.json and the <MMWAVE_LSDK6_INSTALL_DIR>/tools/syscfg_deviceData/XWRL684X folder to <SYSCFG_INSTALL_DIR>/dist/deviceData
    3. Help > install device support step as outlined in this post

This should allow for the product definition to be updated even without the network, but let me know if this still does not solve the issue. Also, what version of CCS is this?

    Best,

    Vignesh K.

  • Hi Vignesh,

The customer has already performed these operations, but it still doesn't work.

  • Hi Rick,

I appreciate your patience and understanding for this issue. One last thing I can suggest is to re-run the CCS installer that they originally used to download code composer to begin with.  This is an another way to force a device update if the files were placed correctly in the said locations mentioned in the FAQ and E2E.

If this does not work, I am afraid that they may have to wait until the issue is resolved in CCS itself. We are targeting March for an update to the CCS mmWave radar device package which will resolve this issue for everyone.

    Best,

    Vignesh K.
