Please let me know two points below about LDC1051.

・OSC (Address:0x20)

What kind of cause does OSC set to "1"?

(After operating by LDC1051, if it changes to another LDC1051, OSC is set to "1" and cannot output)

・Min sensor frequency (Address:0x03)

What kind of influence does this setup on operation?

If extremely large(or small) value is set, what is the problem?

Hi Satoshi San,

If OSC bit is 1, check if you have set Rp-min too low. The Rp-min is related to the maximum driving current of the coil. The lower Rp-min will result in greater driving current limit.

The register 3 specified the lowest frequency of the LC. As described, it should set corresponding to 20% lower than the lowest operation frequency. The chip needs the correct setting here to properly start the oscillation.

About the 1st reply, please let me know about formula of drive current, and detection procedure of full limits.

(Customer would like to design not to be in an electrical overload state)

Sorry for an additional question.

Now, oscillation amplitude is used by 1V.

What is the necessity of using 2V and 4V?

Hi Satoshi San,

The driving current is automatically set by the chip.

Performance is the best when the Vpp is set to 4V. The Vpp can be lowered to 2V or 1V to help reducing the EMI emission if it is problematic.

Driving Current calculated of following method in a chip, is it right?

・V=RI

V:VIO (1.8~5.25V)

R: Rp_min

I:IDD (2.3 A_max)

⇒IDD needs to be 2.3 mA or less.

Satoshi San,

The driving current is drawn from the 5V supply. The driving current is Vpp/Rp, where Rp is the actual Rp. Since there is other current used by the IC from 5V, the actual current will be a little bit higher (by a traction of a mA)
