LM95234 unused TCRIT outputs

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM95234

Hi,

I would like to use LM95234 as a quad temperature sensor.

I don't need any Critical temperature monitoring and I don't want to use TCRIT output pins function.

Do I need to pull-up these outputs or can I left them open?

If I need to pull them up, can I use one pull-up resistor for all or do I need to pull them up independently?

Thanks and regards

Marc-Antoine

  • Hi Marc-Antoine,

These outputs have open drain devices. If left floating they will not affect the function of chip itself. It is the policy of some companies though to not leave any pin floating and thus you can also add are resistor to VDD (one for all would work since they are open drains) or you could also ground them all (upon activation the Open Drain connects the pin to GND). It depends on what you want to do. If you want to leave yourself a way out to possibly activate this function in the future or when you are trouble shooting the board for example then connect them to VDD through independent resistors.

    Take care,
