Distance and Weight Measurement Using Inductive Sensing Reference Design

Hi all.

I would like to know about Weight measurement using inductive sensing.
I see this TI design(TIDA-00215) can measure weight 605g~650g by calibration sensor output from microcontroller.

I understand this design use the distance between coil and magnet.
If I use expansion and contraction of the spring, could I measure weight human body weight,
if you know the such use case, please tell me it.

Hello,

The LDC is quite versatile, and is able to measure the expansion and contraction of a spring. You can use the LDC tools spreadsheet (www.ti.com/.../slyc137) to estimate the change in inductance of the spring; however you will need to ensure that the mechanicals design meets the system requirements.

I will use this sheet for the customer support.
I would like to know the application example which the LDC seriese is used as the weight scale measuring tool.
Do you know such application example?

Yes, I am interested in this TI design.
I understood that this tool device use the distance of the coil and the plate.

Does this tool use expansion and contraction of spring?

Figure 27 and 28 clearly show coils on PCB. I cant understand that the inductance of the springs are used.
