Hello,
Using DRV5013-Q1 for rotational position sensing,
is there a recommended magnet specs ?
<e.g.>
- form/size
- direction of magnetization
- density of magnetic flux

Kato-san,
The DRV5013-Q1 is sensitive to magnetic flux in the perpendicular direction to the package. The device should be positioned with respect to the magnet so that flux travels through the face of the package. The simplest way to do this is what is shown in datasheet Figure 11, where the pole is near the face of the package.
There is flexibility in the magnet size, its material, and its distance to the sensor. Larger magnets produce more flux density at some distance. For the DRV5013-Q1, it's important to exceed the max-BOP and decrease below the min-BRP, as the magnet turns, to ensure the thresholds are crossed. One method you can use to determine the real flux density present is to solder a Linear Hall in place of the DRV5013-Q1 and measure its analog output voltage change.
