Hi,

Is there any data on how long it takes the sensor to respond to a change in temperature? I know on the LM57 datasheet on page 9 and 11, there is "start up response time" data, but that data seems to correspond to how long it takes for the device to generate information after powering on.

Hi Anne,

You are correct. On page 9 and 11 of the datasheet, basically how fast it takes for LM57 enable the output voltage.

I can obtain the plot for you in moving air, still air, and stirred oil, but unfortunately, I am a bit tight schedule this week, and will not available performing the test until July 26. I'll provide the data as soon as I come back from my business travel.

I just want to confirm with you if you are talking about the Vtemp or Tover output of the LM57.

Hi Anne,

I just did some experiments. The LM57 takes about 4 seconds to reach one time constant (67%) when going from initial to final temperature in an oil bath. The TOVER pins take about 72ns to trigger when the sensor reaches the trip temperature is reached.
