TDC1000-C2000EVM: TDC value not changing , it remains constant !

Part Number: TDC1000-C2000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDC1000

Hi ,

I'm using TDC1000 C2000 evm to find the level of fluid . my TDC readings are not changing , they are constant irrespective of water is added to the container or not . it stays around 38us . im using steminc 1khz transducer which was suggested by TI also the excitation freq is 1khz  . currently i do not have access to a DSO . how can you help me out here ?

also am i doing the connections right ? Im connecting one wire to TX1 (on the evm board) other one to ground  (on the evm board) as explained in the manual  . The transducer is tightly coupled and its a ttached firmly with glue .

  • Hello Anup,

You should use a 1 MHz transducer.

    Regards,
    Yibo
  • @Yibo , im sorry its a typo , im using 1 Mhz transducer only ..

also Now i have managed to get a DSO , i cant seem to see any start and stop pulses . i have switched on the continious trigger mode On ,

i have one more doubt is the TDC1000 c2000 evm software compatible with windows 10 ?
  • I have managed to get the readings from the evm board . But my problem is
1)The TDC value stops after 160 us which is around 12 cm .
    2) I am also trying to interface the transducer to a metal container , but the issue im facing is the transducer gets shorted to the metal container and i am seeing very weird false readings . how do i mount it ?
can you help me regarding this issue ?
