DDC316: ADC Quiescent current

Part Number: DDC316

Hi,

I'm testing a DDC316 which has been assembled onto a breakout board. In order to get an indication of the integrity of the connection of the BGA package to the board, I am initially measuring the 'quiescent' analogue and digital currents and comparing these figures with the stated Electrical Characteristics.

Test conditions are:

Ta: 20C
AVDD: 5v
DVDD: 3.3v
VREF: +4.09v
Config Reg : All defaults
CLK 2MHz

I am measuring an analogue supply current of 66mA, which is about 20mA lower than the expect 85mA (internal ref buffer disabled) and a digital supply current of only 0.25mA, which is way below the expected 5mA (according to Elec Specs).

Whilst I appreciate the test conditions are not ideal, if the device is seated correctly on the board, I would expect the supply currents to be closer to those specified.... or are the measured figures reasonable?

Thanks

Phil
