TDC1000-TDC7200EVM: Zero flow procedure

Part Number: TDC1000-TDC7200EVM

Hello,

How do I design the experiment to measure the TOF for zero flow of water. If I just place transducers in a jar there seems to be lots of reflections.

Regards,

Prudhvi Sagar

  • Hi Prudhvi,

If this is intended to be part of a flow measurement system, the zero flow case should be measured in the same system that is used to measure the flowing water. Measuring in a separate setup for zero flow will not generate results that are relevant to the actual flow measurement system.

  • Hello,
Thank you for the support. So i should try to block the pipe with water and not let it go through. I guess there shouldnt be any shaking as well.

  • Hi Prudhvi,

Yes. Any way that you can block the ends will work fine. Shaking will cause bubbles that will disturb the measurement. Try to avoid that. Also, orient the pipe so that it is standing up. That way if the pipe is not completely full, the air at the top will not be between the two transducers.
