IWR1642: Error: Invalid usage of the CLI command

Part Number: IWR1642

Hi everyone, im trying to use Ti demo " high accuracy 16xx".

I've seen the user's guide and tried it one by one, but I get an error.

I've tried several versions of the SDK but it has not.

Can somebody help me?

Thank you

  • Hi,

The visualizer is for mmwave demo, please use the high accuracy visualizer. The link is available in the high accuracy lab user guide. Direct link is pasted below:

  • I entered the linked site as you said, but the port connection is not active.

    What should I do?

    Thank you

  • This problem has been resolved. However, I want to know what the point on the x-y scatter plot means. If the antenna is blocked by 1m from the inside by hand, the value will be 1 ~ 4m. please help me. Thank you!! Regards, Hyunsik
  • Hi,

In high accuracy lab, only the range information is displayed. Therefore even it's is x-y plot, it is displaying only the distance along longitudinal direction. I'm not clear what the setup is like about "blocked by 1m from the inside by hand". Please give more details. Thanks

    Regards,
    Michelle
  • Hi

Looking at the picture below, the distance of the object blocking the sensor is not 1m.

However, under the captured picture, the distance is 3.9m. Can I see why? And where can I find a manual on how to configure?

    Regards,
    Hyunsik

  • Hi,

How much radar signal is reflected depends on the object's RCS(reflection cross section). Radar signals can even pass through walls, so the stack of paper does not really mean it has reflected the radar signal to make radar device consider it as an object. An ideal reflector like the corner reflector or simply a piece of metal plate is be suggested.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Michelle

  • Hi,

Thank you for your help. I want to measure something like a thin wire within 1 meter, is it possible?

Do I need to use ccs when creating my code? I want to receive row data from MATLAB. Is there an example?

    Regards,

    Hyunsik

  • What kind of wire? Metal wire / Ethernet wire /power cable? They can be detected. Try testing in anechoic room or open filed to reduce reflection from unwanted objects. A zoom lens in front of the antenna is recommended.

You do not need ccs to change code unless you find the lab does not provide certain function you needed.
Please try mmwave sensor estimator for optimizing the chirp profile: www.ti.com/.../MMWAVE-STUDIO

The lab or demo gives the processed result. For raw data post processing, please refer to www.ti.com/.../swra581
