LMT01EVM: Blink LED Example

Hi,

I did the firmware upgrade using "Blink LED example" without selecting the firmware file. Now the device is not recognize by the computer. What should I do to fix this problem?

Hi Van,

The Firmware Upgrade tool that you used expects the MSP430 USB device to be in USB BSL mode to work. You can force the MSP430 to start up in USB BSL mode by tying the PUR pin to supply prior to USB connection. This is normally achieved by holding a BSL button, but LMT01EVM is not equipped with BSL button. See page 14 of MSP430 USB Hardware Design. www.ti.com/.../slaa457a.pdf Once the device is detected by the tool in USB BSL mode, you will be able to flash the correct file.

Alternatively, if you have an MSP Debugger or MSP LaunchPad with integrated MSP-FET, you can connect the SBWTCK and SBWTDIO pins at LMT01EVM header J4 to the MSP debugger. Once connected, you could use UniFlash to write the correct firmware file.
