LM60-Q1: minimum Setup time for Vout of LM60-Q1

Part Number: LM60-Q1

Hello Apps team,

My customer is asking minimum setup time of LM60-Q1 after supplying input voltage.

Figure 11 in datasheet shows output voltage which represents temperature is set within 5us after power supplied.

Vo is read as 0.8V, so it would be around 60'C with calculation.

Can I assume the voltage read after power supply 5us is correct Vout which reflect current temperature?

What can be minimum setup time if voltage reading should be waited for more?

Thank you in advance.

  • Hello Kenneth,

Yes, as per Fig-11 the startup time is approx 5 us. However this is a typical characteristic. I would suggest waiting 10 us before taking the data sample.
  • Hello Amit,

Thank you for your prompt answer.

Can 10us be okay for all -40-125'C temperature range?

Could you please briefly explain why LM60-Q1 can be set so quickly?

  • Hello Kenneth,

Analog temp sensors output the raw value. On the other hand digital temp sensors require stabilization time for the digital logic to be setup and ADC conversion which adds delay to the value of the first valid read.

As for the stability of the value, I would suggest using a sample set for testing and then whatever is the worst case value add 2x to the same as a margin.
