DCA1000EVM: data collection is abnormal for DCA1000 capture card

Part Number: DCA1000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642

Hi Team,

Customer uses DCA1000 capture card with AWR1642 EVM board for data acquisition and testing. The board voltage is abnormal, then he replaced power chip. After that, the test voltage is normal. But the collected data is incorrect.

Customer did the following testing. He sends fixed data 0xAA to the data acquisition board through the electric demo board. The data is not all 0xAA, some abnormal data will appear. Collect data as shown below.

Customer would like to know:
1. How to reslove this issue?
2. DCA1000 capture card board uses FPGA. Is there an FPGA source code available?
3. Will TI provide repair services?

  • Hi,

How does the customer generate the data pattern?

    1. How to resolve this issue?

Since we are not familiar with the test setup we can't provide much input.

    2. DCA1000 capture card board uses FPGA. Is there an FPGA source code available?

No, the FPGA source code is not available

    3. Will TI provide repair services?

It seems that the board hardware has been modified (power chip was replaced) So, I don't think the warranty is still valid

    thank you

    Cesar

  • Hi Cesar,

The data sent is an array fixed assignment. Send data to the DCA1000 acquisition board through the SW function in the 1642 LVDS configuration. This test is used before the problem occurs, the data is normal.

    Thanks.

  • Thank you,

I understand how the data pattern is generated.

I agree with customer that the data capture is not correct.

Unfortunately the board is no longer under warranty

    thank you

    Cesar
