OPT3101ESTIMATOR-SW: Different accuracy from example described in datasheet

Hello,

I have been following the example described in the OPT3101 datasheet (document SBAS883A) : section 8 Application and Implementation. I used the OPT3101 system estimator tool to confirm the accuracy is similar to the results explained in the OPT3101 datasheet (document SBAS883A). But I don't get the same results. In the datasheet, with LED SFH4550 and photodiode SFH213FA a 2% accuracy is obtained at 5meters for a 18% reflectivity target. Whereas when I fill up all the parameters in the OPT3101 system estimator tool, I get only a 10% accuracy at 5 meters for a 8% reflectivity target.

Has anyone experienced this berfore?

Hi Matthieu,

I want to confirm if you have a typo in your message. You said 18% for datasheet and 8% reflectivity for the estimator tool. Can you confirm you are using 18% rather than 8% in the estimator tool to match the datasheet condition?

You are right. It's a typo. I confirm I used 18% reflectivity in the tool as well.

Hi Matthieu,

Please use the system estimator result as it takes many factors into consideration. The datasheet shows a specific calculation for example purposes.
