DCA1000EVM: Strong stationary target at 5 meter range when capturing raw data

Part Number: DCA1000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1642BOOST

Hi.

I'm using DCA1000EVM and IWR1642BOOST. I want to capture raw data using mmWave Studio. Everything goes fine but I have this very strong stationary target at 5 meters that kinda saturates the sensor and masks everything else. There is no such thing at the surrounding of the radar. Radar works good with mmWave demo visualizer and detects targets correctly.

I'm just running DataCaptureDemo_xWR.lua script and don't change anything at all and this is the result.

Thanks

  • HI,

In the DataCaptureDemo_xWR.lua, the testing source is turns on by default.  You can change the lua script to disable the testing source.

    Best,

    Zigang

  • Dear Zigang,

Thanks. I commented those lines related to testing source and the source target is gone now.

However, I still don't receive any targets that I actually have in my scene. Its only noise. I have both my TX channels enabled. I attached my settings too. ADC seems to be saturated with a strong DC component. I remove the DC component using the existing post processing but still no target is visible.

    Edit:

My Issue was resolved after unticking "Test Source Enable".
