DRV5011: What happen on tied with Vcc?

Part Number: DRV5011

I'm going to replace Asahi Kasei Micro, AK8771. I suggested mu customer to use DRV5011ADDMRR. They decided to evaluate it.

Then they are facing an issue.Currently  #3 pin of AK8771 is connected with Vcc. The datasheet of DRV5011ADDMRR indicates to connect it with GND or Non- connection.

They hope to use the same PCB if they replace it to DRV5011ADDMRR. Then #3 pin of DRV5011ADDMRR is connected with Vcc.

Maximum input from #3 pin

Voltage: 5.5V

Current: +/-10mA

Would you please let us know if they can connect #3 with Vcc?

Please let me know the limited condition when they connect it with Vcc if it's allowed to use on a limited condition.

Are anything happened?

Please advise!!

Look forward to hearing from you

best regards,

Masato Aizu

  • Hi Masato,

Its best to follow the recommendation given in the datasheet. This pin is a No Connect pin and indeed is not connected internally to the silicon but we still recommend for it to be left floating on connected to GND.
