IWR6843: IWR6843: SPI-USB and UART-USB ICs to Work with MMWAVESTUDIO and MMWAVEVISUALIZER

Part Number: IWR6843
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVEICBOOST, DCA1000EVM

Hi,

I am using IWR6843 in a new design and I was wondering if you can recommend the ICs that I should use in order to interact with MMWAVESTUDIO and MMWAVEVISUALIZER. The white paper (SPRACP3A) from TI's website states that we need SPI-to-USB and UART-to-USB converters if we do not have access to the 60-pin connector. I thought of using "CP2105-F01-GMR" as the UART-to-USB converter but I could not find the SPI-to-USB converter in "PROC091F(001)_Sch.pdf". Besides the SPI, UART, and MSS Logger signals, are there any more signals I need?

Best,

Julian

  • Hi,

FTDI device is used for the SPI to UART, you can find this in the MMWAVEICBOOST schematic.

FYI: If you need to process the raw data captured then you need DCA1000EVM, without the DCA1000EVM you can transmit for testing purposes but cannot actual capture and process the data.
