LM50-Q1: What is output voltage between 125℃ to 150℃?

Part Number: LM50-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP235-Q1

Team,

Can you please help address this customer question:

From datasheet LM50-Q1 maximum output voltage is 1.75V@125℃. But Operating temperature is below 150℃.

What is output voltage between 125 to 150?

And Can you estimate temperature tolerance that range?

As I know that is not specified temperature tolerance. But I need to understand general tolerance.

Thanks

Viktorija

  • Hi Viktorija,

Most likely the LM50-Q1 will continue to follow the 10mV/°C. Following this you can expect a 2V output at 150°C. However, performance cannot be guaranteed outside of the 125°C range.

I'd recommend the TMP235-Q1 which has been characterized to 150°C, follows the same 10mV/°C output and is a pin to pin replacement of the LM50-Q1.

  • Thank you, Jalen.

Do you have any testing data to back up the "Most likely the LM50-Q1 will continue to follow the 10mV/°C" comment?

I will propose TMP235-Q1, however, it's pretty late in the design cycle, and I am not sure they will be able to make the change.

    Thanks

    Viktorija

  • Viktorija,

I don't have any specific test data to share, but empirically that is what I have seen on units. This is just to provide some guidance to the customer, but again we can't guarantee anything outside of the 125°C for the LM50-Q1. They will have to test and characterize the units at those temperatures themselves if they want to have more confidence in this.

    Hope that is helpful.
