LM75A: How to set Configuration Register of D5 ~D7

Hi Team,

The datasheet of LM75A mentioned the Configuration Register of D5~D7 as below:

D5–D7: These bits are used for production testing and must be kept zero for normal operation.

My question is that could customer configure the bit D5~D7? Any wrong or issue would be caused by configure them？

Hi Xing,

These bits should only be written only as zero per the datasheet.

I have ordered some of those parts to see if those bits can be changed in normal operation, it will take a few days to check. In the mean time, we do recommend for any new designs that they consider using the TMP1075 instead.

Hi Xing,

I've tested this on an LM75AEVM, and it does appear that these bits are overwritable. Please ensure that they are not overwritten.
