Hi TI support team,
We have a custom board of single AWR2243p chip and try to control it via SPI.
1) We happened to connect the SOP pins, [SOP2 SOP1 SOP0] = [0 0 0].
Is it impossible to make a SPI connection in this case?
2) Do we need to set the SOP strictly to one of 3 SOP modes; [0 0 1], [1 0 1], [0 1 1] for starting SPI communication?
3) Is the bootup flow diagram shown in Figure 3.2 of the document, "mmwave radar Interface Control Document Rev.2.13" available commonly for the above 3 modes?
4) Could you recommend some documents to understand the difference of the above 3 bootup modes?
I would like to know what SOP setup we should select.
5) Do we need to connect the sync_out pin to sync_in pin in the single chip operation?
Your kind advice is greatly appreciated.
Hello User,
For SPI connection, you would need SOP4 mainly. For SOP mode 4 setting – i.e. SPI communication - (SOP0 pin = 1, SOP1 pin = 0, SOP2 pin = 0).
For better clarity, please go through the mmWave_DFP_user_guide.pdf as well. You can find that as a part of mmWave DFP package: mmwave_dfp_<version>\docs.
Could you recommend some documents to understand the difference of the above 3 bootup modes?
For this, please refer to our FAQ page : https://e2e.ti.com/support/sensors/f/sensors-forum/856058/faq-queries-related-to-mmwave-dfp (Q7).
Do we need to connect the sync_out pin to sync_in pin in the single chip operation?
No you need not connect that.
