I2C temp sensor with non-volatile set open drain trip

I am looking for a single temp sensor part with an I2C interface and dual programmable non-volatile open drain trip points (set via I2C or Res).

Basically like the LM56 from TI with I2C temp interface rather than analog.

I have looked through the TI catalog, but ust checking to see if I've overlooked somthing.

LM77 would be the perfect part, but the set thresholds are lost on reset.

Looking for a part similar to LM77 that has non-volatile memory, OR thresholds set with Res. Does such a part exist?

Hi J,

Take a look at the TMP401, this part has two alert pins that are programmable and incorporates local and remote temp sensing capabilities.

The TMP401 is programmable, but it still resets on power up:

"The power-on reset value of the local temperature high limit is 55h/00h (+85°C in standard temperature mode; +21°C in extended temperature mode)."

Page 10 under "Limit Registers" section of datasheet.

It needs to be Non-Volatile, preferably +/- 1.

Hi J,

I believe the TMP401 is the closest offering we have to your required features, I do not know of any temp sensors with non-volatile trip points.

What threshold are you looking for? We may just have one that has the right threshold for you by coencidence.
