We have FDC2214PROXSEN-EVM on hand and have below question.

- Is it posible to change proximity sensor to button 1 or 2? our target distance is 5 cm,

- Can we have firmware for debugging purpose?

We have one more question.

what is the best connection on the EVM if we would like to evaluate proximity performance by using our own sensor as attached.

I though remove R28 and parallel my PCB sensor with C15, any recommendation?

Hi Knighty,

You don't need to remove R28. You just need to break off the EVM sensors and attach your custom ones to whichever channel you want to use.

Hi NT,

I'm sorry, I think I misunderstood your question. Do you mean connect your own sensor to the FDC2214EVM or the FDC2214PROXSEN-EVM? If you mean the FDC2214PROXSEN-EVM, then you're right - you need to remove R28 and connect your sensor to C15. If you mean the FDC2214EVM, then you can break off the sensors along the perforated edge.

Rachel,

Yes, it's FDC2214PROXSEN-EVM. we use our own sensor, 2 side PCB as sensor( see attached), we like to detect only one side (top or bottom) only. Do you have any commend on how connect our sensor to this EVM?

- can we use our own sensor as proximity sensor to replace bottom 1 on the EVM? We need 2 proximity sensor for this project.
- since we target to detect human hand only single side of PCB proximity sensor, our sensor is PCB, one end connect to INX(top side) and other end connect to GND (bottom side), top side can detect properly about 5cm but we notice that when hand close to bottom side about 0.5cm, FDC2214 will detect( GREEN LED ON), we are not intend to let bottom side active or minimize the detection of the bottom side as low as possible, do you have any suggestion?

our application is automatic faucet, opens valve to allow water to flow in response to the presence of a hand or hands in close proximity
