Dear,
Our factory operator can not recognize this IC's pin direction / location easily on the SMT line.
Do you have any experience about this issue? could you share with us how to solute it?
Could TI add a body mark to solute it?

Hi Kyle,
The OPT3001 has a pin 1 marker but it is on the bottom side of the chip (see datasheet page 41). There is no pin marker on the top side of the chip. However, the chip does have a rectangular bar at the top that can also be used to determine the orientation (see image below). You may need a magnifier or microscope to see it clearly though.
I do not think we are able to add a body mark, but please let me know if these solutions do not work for you or you need more info.
Best,
Alex
Dear Alex,
I think it still difficult to recognize by operator.
It must use magnifier to recognize.
Is there a way to think of the identification method?
Any ODM/OEMs do not have this SMT issue?
Thanks~

Kyle.
Dear Alex,
Thanks for your response.
How about cut a corner nearby pin 1?
