IWR1642BOOST: Blind Spot at 0 radians azimuth on EVM

Part Number: IWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1642

Hello!

I believe I may have a hardware issue with my IWR1642 BOOST.  I've used the firmware for the people counting demo (tried both versions 2.1.2 and 2.2.0) and I'm reading the frame data from a windows app and storing into a SQL database.  This all works fine and the data appears to be accurate; however, I'm getting no data for targets directly in front of the device.  I get data -0.098 radians and to the left and from 0.065 radians and to the right but nothing in between.

When I run the people counting demo the behavior seems to exist there too.  While the UI appears to show normal tracking of the target when I examine the fhist.mat file created by MATLAB I can see that there is no data in the point cloud from this azimuth range (which is approximately 10 degrees at center).  I would attach that file here but I can't seem to figure out how to do so.

Is this a problem with my EVM or a problem in the firmware loaded to device?

Thanks for your help!!

Tom
