TDC1000-TDC7200EVM: TDC1000-TDC7200EVM Flowmeter Setup

Part Number: TDC1000-TDC7200EVM

Hello,

I am trying to setup TDC1000-TDC7200EVM board for water flow meter application. The sample project that came along the installation of TDC1000-TDC7200EVM is specific for the board. It would be helpful if i have sample code specific for flowmeter application.

Thanks

Parthi

  • Parthiban,

We do not have any specific sample code at this time specific for flow meter application.

Also we recommend using the MSP430 based solution for accurate flow metering.

  • Hello Bharat,

Appreciate your response. It would be helpful if you can guide me on the following,

1.How to compile the project that came along with the TDC1000-TDC7200EVM installation ?(seems like missing make file: no rule to make target)

2.How to flash and debug the EVM board with modified application affecting TDC1000 and TDC7200?

    Thanks

    Parthi

  • Parthiban,

    1. You should have downloaded the GUI with the TDC1000-TDC7200EVM and run the EVM through this GUI.
    2. You could use the debug tab in the GUI to change the register setting in the devices per your need.

However in case you want to flash the MSP430, then you may have to write a new firmware & then flash the MSP430 device .
  • Hello Bahrat,

I got the project compiled successfully. I trying to modify the code for standalone flowmeter application. I have interfaced 4Mhz transducer but I dont see any graph in GUI. I could see the pulse being generated and received through scope.

Any support from you regarding the flowmeter application development will be helpful. I read in TI forum there is a project "Fluid flow metering made easy" using TDC1000-TDC7200 but i could not find the source.

  • Parthiban,

As for the flow meter application we no longer encourage development usinf the TDC1000-TDC7200EVM. The MSP430 based solution as in the link above is a newer and much more accurate device to measure flow in gas/liquid.

We at this time do not have any specific stand alone code for flow meter for the TDC1000-TDC7200EVM.

Also if you insists on TDC1000-TDC7200EVM, please check if you receive any Rx signal from the transducer to the device.

Note that the EVM is designed for a transducer of 1MHz and you may have to change the filter network at the PGAGAIN & LNA pin to suit the 4MHz transducer.
