TS5A3167: What other SPST switches have powered-off protection

Are there any other active low SPST switches with the powered-off protection?

  • Hello,

So that would be the only active low SPST switch we have. Is there another requirement you need met that this device does not accomplish?

Let me know if there are other requirements here, otherwise that is the only device we have for that logic functionality in a 1:1x1.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Bryan,

I'm looking to use the TS5A3167 on a HDMI CEC line to pass the power off leakage test.  I'm planning to short the IN enable to ground so the switch is on whenever it is powered and use the isolation in powered off mode feature to prevent leakage on the CEC line when the system is not powered.  Do you have any other switches that have similar functionality?

    Thanks,

  • Hello,

Can you help clarify the temperature and leakage requirement for the system (believe it is 1.8uA)? While the TS5A3167 can work in this application, the powered off protection leakage can be up to 10uA at 25C (worse at hot temp).

I would recommend looking into the TS5A3159A which is a 2:1x1 channel switch (not active low, but you can just short the "IN" pin to GND/V+ depending on which channel you want to use (you can just float or tie a 50 ohm resistor to GND on the other unused channel) so the channel will be "ON" whenever there is power brought to the device. In addition, this device has much better powered off protection leakage performance with maximum 1uA at 25C.

Let me know if that will be acceptable here.

    Thanks!

    Bryan

  • Hi Bryan,

Yes, it is 1.8 uA, I misread the datasheet as the powered off leakage being +/-10 nA, not uA.  The TS5A3159A is a better fit, thanks!
