TMUX6219: -15V and 0V input

Part Number: TMUX6219

Customer is looking for a workaround solution on MD system.

In system, they'd like to mux output power between -15V and 0V with 300mA,peak current. We'd like to know if TMUX6219 is workable or not?

application: Gate driver power for Motor Drive

Ambient Temp: 85degree

  • Hi Brian,

The TMUX6219 can only pass signals up to the rail voltage. In the schematic you drew above, this would violate the operating conditions of the device as the supplies would have to be at least 4.5V on VDD and then -15V on VSS in order to properly pass a -15V signal on the S/D pins:

The TMUX6219 will work with this application, you would just need to make sure the supply conditions are met to pass the desired signals. One more note on this is that if you want to pass 300mA through the device, this application will need to be operated at 25C as that is where the device can reliably operate at that current and voltage levels without violating its maximum junction temperature:

Let me know if you have further questions on this.

    Thanks!

    Bryan
