SN74CBT3384A: Request for Clarification on Recommend Replacement Part Number for Discontinued Part Number SN74CBT3384ADWR (PDN# 20230621005.3)

Good morning all, 

I see on the PDN that part number SN74CBT3384ADWR is going to be discontinued and the recommended replacement is part number SN74CBT3384CPWR.

 

However I see that this does not have the same footprint. However I see on the datasheet for the SN74CBT3384C that there is a part number that has the same footprint which is SN74CBT3384CDWR.

 

Should the PDN be updated to include SN74CBT3384CDWR as the recommended replacement? Part number SN74CBT3384CDWR is a pin to pin compatible part to the projected EOL part SN74CBT3384ADWR. Can someone notify your change management team on this finding?

    Hello James,

    The SN74CBT3384ADWR is an SOIC-24 package, while the SN74CBT3384CPWR is a TSSOP-24 package. You are correct the SN74CBT3384ADWR should point to SN74CBT3384CDWR, since they are both the same package. 

    The cross was updated.
