I2C 2:1 multiplexer application for TS3A24157 2 channel SPDT switch

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS3A24157

For I2C switch applications requiring a logic control signal instead of an I2C command to multiplex between two I2C Masters, A and B, the TS3A24157 can be used as a solution to this problem.

The TS3A24157 has 2 logic control inputs that can be used to toggle the SPDT switch without needing to write I2C commands.  This solution can save board space and I/Os by eliminating one of the buses required to control the switch by I2C.  Connecting the TS3A24157 control signals together provides switch control with a one bus solution instead of the 2 bus (data and clock) solution required for I2C control.

The TS3A24157 does not have internal pull ups.  When implementing I2C communication with this device, there needs to be pull-up resistors on both the master and slave buses to prevent glitching when switching channels.
