TS5A22362: Is using DC blocking on both sides of the mux ok?

Hi,

 

I am using 1 microphone for two inputs.

 

As you can see the DC blocking caps are on each side of switch because of biasing at both the microphone and the audio inputs.

The microphone input shall be 1.4Vrms with a bias of 8 V.

 

Do you think that this block diagram will be ok, or will this degrade the audio integrity because of the biasing?

    Your bias circuit at the microphone side is okay and it will not degrade the audio integrity. Please be aware of the two biasing resistors in your drawing. The resistive termination should meet the signal matching requirements if there is any. At the analog switch port, since the datasheet does not mention if all 3 ports are internally weakly pulled down to ground, I would also bias these 3 ports to ground through 10M resistors. 
     

  • The biasing at the microphone is normal in this application. However, I am looking for the response how the bias the analog switch in between. When you say bias to ground through 10M, do you mean just a pull down resistor to ground on all 3 ports of the mux?

    I am expecting a plus and minus signal at the input with the ground as the center reference.
