Hello,
I’ve some questions about TS3A227E application in Smart phone or NB。
1. How does TS3A227E route its internal switch when different external audio accessory insertion?
For example, 3 poles or 4 poles headset is plugged in, how does it judge? I’m not able to understand well from its datasheet?
2. When TS3A227E is used in type c connector of smart phone or NB, it’s able to detect and automatically change internal Switch if 3.5mm headset is inserted through a converted cable. However, if an earphone with type c interface is directly plugged in, how does it work?
Best regards
Kailyn
Kailyn,
1) please see this post and appnote how audio jack detection works. How this works is proprietary but there is more information you can find below.
Does TS3A226AE support high impendance microphone (like IPhone 6 earphone ) ? (this post also explains...
2) The TS3A227E will respond and configure itself based on the impedances it detects on the tip Sleeve/Ring2 pins. It will highly depend on what pins are connected where on the USB type C connector and what the impedance is on those lines. Here is a TI design that uses an audio jack switch behind a USB type C connector.
Thank you,
Adam
